Weight After Loading for Round 2: 171.7 lbs (3.7 lbs total gain)
Last Injection Weight (LIW): 147.9 lbs
Net loss for Round 2: 20.1 lbs
Gross loss for Round 2: 23.8 lbs
R2P3D1: 148.2 lbs (+0.3 lbs from LIW)
Hold on, here we goooooooooo..... I'm concerned that this is going to be a bit of a roller coaster ride. Typically people start Phase 3 with a bit of a "cushion," meaning that they lose additional weight during the 3 VLCDs with no injection. Sometimes they are losing normal fat so they gain it back, but it is still nice to start off BELOW your LIW. Unfortunately, that is not my situation this round. But, as I said, I will hang in there and play it by ear. If it appears that I can't stabilize within +2 lbs of my LIW, then I may consider raising my target weight. We'll see how it goes.
Phase 3 refresher course: The basics are that you shoot to stay within plus or minus 2 lbs of your Last Injection Weight (LIW) which is the weight you were on the morning of your last injection. For me, my last injection was on Thursday, November 11, and my weight as of that morning was 147.9 lbs. As you can see, I've changed little header at the top of my post so that you can see that each day. The rule for eating during Phase 3 is "no sugar, no starch" and it lasts for 3 weeks.
On to the menu:
8:45a: One egg cooked in Pam butter spray on
slice of Ezekiel Bread*(2) with mayo
9:15a: Coffee with Hazelnut Stevia and half-n-half
{Interesting note 9:30a: I started feeling like my nose/
sinuses were clogging up. Since it was the only new
thing, I am questioning the half-n-half.}
{Next interesting note 12p: I am getting a headache.}
1:30p: Two hard-boiled eggs
2p: 20oz water, Lemon, ACV (Blech! I miss my
Lemon Drop stevia!)
2p: 2oz Organic Raw Sharp Cheddar Cheese
{Next interesting note 2:15p: Headache is moving
into the "bad" category... Grabbing the meds... boo.}
2:30a: 20oz water with lemon
3p: Couple of handfuls of tree nuts
7:30p: Cheese Omelet from Waffle House (Note to
self: Never order an omelet from Waffle House.
It was oil-saturated egg stuffed with oily cheese
and a side of grease. But I was hungry so I ate
it anyway.)
9:30p: Handful of tree nuts
* NOTES:
(1) I wasn't fully prepared to start Phase 3 grocery-wise. The lowest carb creamer is actually heavy whipping cream, believe it or not. I will be buying some soon.
(2) Ezekiel bread would fall under the "starch" category I believe. I only had one egg in the house (that wasn't hard-boiled already) and I was very low on cheese. If that were not the case, my first breakfast would have probably been 2 or 3 eggs with cheese instead of using the Ezekiel bread. That would have been a better choice.
Reflection on the day: The "interesting" notes that I made are my ponderings about a possible allergic reaction to the half-and-half. I *HOPE* that this isn't signaling that dairy could be an issue for me. I ate cottage cheese and yogurt frequently during the VLCD portion, seemingly with no problem. During my first round I would regularly add my allotted teaspoon of milk to my coffee, but I didn't do that anymore during this round. I never noticed having any problem with any of those dairy items. I am more interested than ever to see the results of my food/chemical allergy blood test. Perhaps I'll call my clinic tomorrow and see if the results are back. 'Til then, later all you wonderful losers! :D
