My name is VeggieGirl... and I am a chocoholic. {Here's where you say "Hello, VeggieGirl" in a quiet monotone}
Here's the sad-but-true story: I gained 5.3 lbs during my planned interruption, with the majority of that occurring over the last three days. I had a wonderful trip and stayed true to the "no sugars, no starches" mantra of phase 3 with a few minor discrepancies. Weight stayed fairly solid until yes, you guessed it: TOM shows up EIGHT DAYS EARLY! I'm not using him as an excuse (because I have no excuse) but I have to liken him to the serpent coaxing Eve to eat the apple -- HE IS VERY PERSUASIVE! Yes, I succumbed to the sudden influx of chocolate that entered my house over the last three days. I succumbed on Saturday, I succumbed on Sunday, and yes, then I succumbed a little more on Monday. Hence, the FIVE PLUS pounds gained. Ugh. I am so disgusted with myself I don't know what to do. I slipped right back into those old bad habits. I was still off the HCG since TOM showed up before I had resumed the shots, and then TOM starts whispering, "Oh come on... one Reese's Peanut Butter Cup isn't going to hurt you..." I quickly agreed with him and dived into those deceptive little "mini" chocolates. You know, the "mini" Kit Kats, "mini" Snickers bars, "mini" Peanut M&Ms... Well, all those "mini" treats turned into a "maxi" gain of 5+ lbs. :(
All I can do at this point is put all of that behind me and dive back into the HCG and VLCD with a vengeance. I went to my clinic today to pick up my injections for the week and I made sure that I injected myself there right on the spot to put an end to all of this cheating! I WILL NOT cheat with HCG in my system, so that will be my ace in the hole. If I would have eaten the candy with the HCG on board, I probably would have gained 10 pounds instead of 5!
I am certain that all those chocolate goodies are going to wreak havoc with my hunger and cravings over the next few days, but I figure that will be my penance for all my sugar sins. Also, even though that chocolate tasted pretty good at the time, I paid dearly for it later with horrible stomach pains and terrible headaches, along with the huge gain. I knew it was the chocolate, and yet, I kept going... That's how I got myself into this problem in the first place -- my brain knows it's wrong, but when chocolate is involved I tend to ignore what my brain is telling me. So, I will continue to pay the piper for the rest of the week, I guess, until I get all of the crap flushed out of my system. I figure I deserve it. Bring it on! I'm ready!
Onto the menu (the CHOCOLATE-FREE menu...)
- Lots and lots of water with lemon and ACV all day
12p: One hard-boiled egg
1p: Yogi Detox Tea sweetened with powdered stevia
3p: 1 serving of Asparagus Soup*
4p: 1 apple
5p: Decaf Green Tea with Vanilla Creme Liquid stevia
7p: 1 scoop Jay Robb Vanilla Whey Protein Powder*
mixed with 6oz of water
8:30p: Nonfat Plain Greek Yogurt* with Vanilla Creme
Liquid stevia
9p: Orange Smoothie
*OFF PROTOCOL WARNING!
Reflection on the day: Oh boy was I hungry today! Especially now (late night hungries -- my nemesis) but I knew it was coming. I'm not sure how this "planned interruption" is supposed to work without reloading. I guess that you are just hungry during the first couple of days, but I'm sure that I've made it much worse with the cheating. However, I am ready to get back on the bandwagon, so I'm just going to grit my teeth and get through it. Once I reach my optimum HCG level, I know that my hunger will go away and things will get much better. I just have to stick with it.
'Til tomorrow, later losers!
